Privacy Policy

What happens to the details you send us, what we keep on file, and how to ask us to change or remove it.

This page covers the single interactive part of OTR Groups: the repair job form on the contact page. There are no accounts, no profiles and no tracking layer behind it. What you type is what we receive, and it stays on the machine that runs this site until we delete it by hand.

What the form collects

Your name, your email address, the gear category you pick from the list, and your description of the damage. A photo link is optional, and so is the checkbox that lets us feature your repair in a teardown post. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is stored from the form itself.

How submissions are logged

When you send the form, the handler writes the submitted values to a local file at /private/submissions.jsonl. Alongside your answers it records the submission time, the form identifier, the page language and the source query string from the URL you arrived on. That file sits on the same server as the site.

How long it stays

There is no automatic expiry. Entries remain in the log until the site owner deletes the file or removes individual records by hand. We do not run a scheduled cleanup and we do not promise a deletion window, because none exists.

Your rights over your data

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or receive a copy in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent for us to keep or publish your repair at any time. Write to the address below and we will act on the request.

Editorial content, not professional advice

The guides on this site are field notes from our own workbench. They describe what has worked for us on specific repairs, with specific materials. They are not a substitute for a qualified assessment of your own gear, and you carry out any repair at your own discretion and risk.

We do not run misleading claims, invented urgency, fake endorsements or borrowed brand names. Where a fix has limits, we say so in the post rather than promising a result we cannot back up.

Privacy requests and contact

Send access, correction, deletion or portability requests to the editorial desk. The postal address below is a contact point only, not a workshop or a place to drop off gear.
